But all that isn't the point of the novel, or the series. Above I mentioned that the protagonist can use Order magic. This exists in contrast with Chaos magic. In this early entry into the series their interactions are not fully fleshed out, an instance of Early Iteration Weirdness. Order magic is, well, orderly. It's used to heal people, strengthen materials, control the weather, and other sundry tasks. Chaos magic is wielded by the aforementioned evil wizard. Chaos magic is, as you would expect, destructive. It can be used to control peoples' minds, start fires, and generally sow destruction and chaos.
