Adopt Bing, our Mascot of the Match!

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the second year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting one local animal ready for adoption

The Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. the Houston Dash on Thursday, July 22 is Bing from Pawsitive Tails.

Meet Bing! Only a year old and 55 lbs, Bing is a bright, beautiful boy on the search to find his furever home. Bing has been in a foster home with the Pawsitive Tails rescue since he was a 10-week-old puppy. If you are looking for a new playmate, Bing will hop right into the action! Whether you have a ball, or a squeaky toy, or any form of water, Bing is all about it. He’ll beat you in tug-of-war any day and loves to play games. Bing has an outgoing personality and loves to meet new people, kids, and dogs. On top of his loving, friendly personality Bing is also adventurous and loves rides, and loves to swim. Well trained and eager to learn more, Bing is house trained, crate trained and treat-motivated, for you to teach him any other knowledge worth knowing. Bing is the best, a good guy, a loving companion, and can’t wait to start making lifelong memories with you.

Bing is available for adoption through Pawsitive Tails, a non-profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dogs in the Kansas City area. This non-profit does not have a facility and is not a shelter. In fact, all dogs in their program live in loving foster homes. They take dogs into their own homes and care for them until they go to their forever homes. The time they spend with the foster dogs helps Pawsitive Tails learn more about each individual dog which allows them to be able to provide applicants with an accurate assessment of what the dog needs and the dog's strengths.

Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. C.F. Monterrey Femenil on Wednesday, October 4, presented by Bud Light, is Brumby from KC Pet Project!

Brumby is a 4-year-old Pit Bull/Terrier mix who has been at the shelter since August 27th. He was found roaming as a stray in South Kansas City and was brought in by a good Samaritan. Brumby needs a little time when meeting new people, but as soon as he feels safe with you, he will begin to open up. Brumby is loved by staff and volunteers alike for his sweet and gentle nature. He loves a good hot dog, but will take it from you gently. Walking Brumby is a breeze since he is great on leash and won't pull at all. He does attend playgroups at our shelter and could live with another dog after meeting them to make sure it's a perfect match. This handsome man would love a family of his very own! Adopt Rue, our Mascot of the Match!

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the second year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting one local animal ready for adoption.

The Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Orlando Pride on April 23 is Rue of Lucky 13 Rescue.

Rue is a two year old pup who loves to cuddle with his humans and play with other dogs. He was diagnosed with a condition called megaesophagus, which makes it difficult for him to digest his food unless he is sitting upright. Rue uses a custom-built chair, included with his adoption, to help him properly digest his food. He loves to play with chew toys and take long walks, but his favorite thing is to curl up on the couch and catch up on his favorite TV shows.

Rue is available for adoption through Lucky 13 Rescue, a foster-based dog rescue serving the KC metro and surrounding rural areas by providing medical care and foster placements/adoptions for homeless pets. In 2022, Lucky 13 took in 421 dogs, completed 374 adoptions, and provided $167,000 in vetting to dogs in need.

Rue will come with a custom-built chair to eat and will be fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on heartworm prevention. And most exciting, he will come with a 1-year membership to Bar K dog park. His adoption fee has been sponsored, so it is $0 with an approved application. Apply to adopt Rue at www.lucky13rescue.org or www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog.

Reviews for "Harnessing the Power of the Kc Current Mascot for Fundraising"

1. John - 1 star
I recently attended a KC Current soccer game and was incredibly disappointed with their mascot. The mascot was lackluster and uninspiring, lacking any creativity or uniqueness. It seemed like the team just threw together a costume without putting any thought or effort into it. The design was so generic and forgettable that I couldn't even remember what it looked like after the game. The mascot didn't engage with the crowd or create any excitement. Overall, the KC Current mascot was a huge letdown and did nothing to enhance my experience at the game.
2. Sarah - 2 stars
I wasn't impressed with the KC Current mascot at all. It felt like a generic mascot that could be found at any sporting event. The costume was poorly designed and the character itself lacked personality. There was nothing about the mascot that stood out or made it memorable. The interactions with the crowd were minimal and it didn't do much to hype up the fans. I expected a more exciting and unique mascot for a professional soccer team. The KC Current mascot definitely needs some improvement.
3. Mark - 1 star
The KC Current mascot was a complete disappointment. It was unimaginative and unoriginal. The costume looked like something a high school team would have, not a professional soccer team. The mascot barely interacted with the crowd and didn't create any excitement or energy. It was just there, existing without any purpose. I would have expected a more dynamic and engaging mascot to represent the KC Current. Overall, I was unimpressed with the mascot and it did nothing to enhance my experience at the game.

While the KC Current mascot wasn't terrible, it definitely didn't leave a lasting impression. The design of the mascot was bland and generic, lacking any creativity or uniqueness. It didn't have any memorable features or characteristics that would make it stand out. The interactions with the crowd were minimal and it didn't do much to hype up the fans. Overall, the KC Current mascot was forgettable and didn't add much value to the game experience. I hope they consider redesigning it to make it more engaging and exciting in the future.
5. Alex - 1 star
I found the KC Current mascot to be incredibly underwhelming. The design was uninspired and lacked any personality or creativity. It looked like a cheap costume that you could buy at a discount store. The mascot didn't engage with the crowd or create any excitement. It simply walked around aimlessly, not adding anything to the game experience. I think the KC Current should invest in a new mascot that can represent the team in a more dynamic and engaging way.
