Magic Tree House #19: Tigers at Twilight In the nineteenth book of the Magic Tree House series, titled Tigers at Twilight, siblings Jack and Annie find themselves in the dense jungles of India. Equipped with a magical tree house and a book filled with facts and information, they embark on yet another exciting adventure. The story begins with a mysterious gift left for Jack and Annie by research librarian Morgan le Fay. The gift contains a book about India along with a rhyming riddle: "You must find the one who needs you most—the drum you'll hear will tell you by a ghost." Curious and excited, the siblings enter the tree house and use its magic to transport them to the vast jungles of India. Upon arrival, they hear the sound of a distant drum and decide to follow it to discover what awaits them.
Soon they come across a tree with deep gouges in its bark. Jack looks in his book and identifies the gouges as tiger claw marks. Annie is unfazed by the possibility of a tiger nearby, so Jack continues reading facts about tigers to help her understand the danger. Suddenly, the forest animals sound upset and fearful. The children follow Kah and Ko up a tree to escape what they soon discover is a python. The monkeys show Jack and Annie how to use the vines to swing to safety. A tiger leaps out of the brush and swipes at the children in midswing, but they reach the next tree without a scratch.
