The Magic in My Blood: How Being Raised by a Witch Shaped Me

By admin

My mother was a witch. Growing up, I always knew there was something different about her. She had this mystical aura that surrounded her, and a certain power that seemed to emanate from within. It wasn't until I was older that I discovered the truth - she was a witch. When I say "witch," I don't mean the kind that rides around on broomsticks and casts spells on innocent people. My mother's magic was different.

Players control Abrill, a young girl seeking to become a certified witch by passing her academic internship. Players can customise Abrill’s appearance as well as her home. The game features a calendar and season system, though there is no set ending point. In her role, Abrill can craft potions, learn rituals, affect the weather, and peek into the potential future while helping the island’s residents and learning more about its secrets. The island itself is home to three distinct cultures — Boran, Apatut, and Kuqkwa — while Abrill will also be able to venture into a parallel spirit world called Astra.

My mother's magic was different. It was subtle yet powerful, gentle yet fierce. She had a deep understanding of nature and the elements, and she used this knowledge to heal and protect those around her.

Kickstarter Check-In: The Witch of Fern Island

Developer Enjoy Studio has begun a Kickstarter campaign for sandbox adventure RPG The Witch of Fern Island. The game follows a budding witch on the eponymous island as she learns more about the island’s history, inhabitants, and magic. It is being developed for PC and consoles. A PC Early Access release is currently planned for early 2023 with the full release to follow in early 2024.

The game features its own farming systems, including crops and magical hen-like Cuflows that come in various breeds that can be crossed with each other. Abrill can also find various ingredients and resources for her magic throughout the island. Other activities include fishing, befriending and controlling familiars, photography, researching wildlife, festivals, and more.

The campaign is looking for €15,000 in funding and is set to run until December 8, 2022. Those who pledge at least €16 will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.

My mother was a wutch

I remember watching in awe as she tended to her herb garden, carefully selecting the right plants and mixing them together to create potions and remedies. She would spend hours pouring over dusty old books, studying ancient texts and learning new spells. It was like she had a secret world of magic that she invited me into. But being a witch was not always easy for my mother. In a world that often fears what it does not understand, she faced judgement and ridicule. People would whisper behind her back, calling her a witch and accusing her of dark magic. But my mother never let their words faze her. She knew who she was and the good she was capable of. One of my favorite memories of my mother's magic was when she would read me bedtime stories. But these were not your ordinary fairy tales. Instead, she would weave intricate stories about mythical creatures and magical beings. These stories sparked my imagination and filled my dreams with wonder. As I grew older, I began to embrace my own magical abilities. I learned to harness the power of nature and started experimenting with potions and spells of my own. My mother was my guide, teaching me the ways of the craft and encouraging me to explore my own abilities. Today, I carry on my mother's legacy as a witch. I use my magic to heal and bring light into the world, just as she taught me. I am proud to be a witch, just like my mother. She showed me that magic is not something to fear or hide, but rather something to embrace and celebrate. So yes, my mother was a witch. And I am grateful for the magic she brought into my life. She taught me to believe in the power of love and the beauty of the unseen. And for that, I will forever be grateful..

I found "My mother was a witch" to be quite disappointing. The storyline was underdeveloped and lacked depth. The characters were one-dimensional and lacked any real growth or complexity. The writing style also left much to be desired, with choppy sentences and a lack of descriptive language. Overall, I found the book to be dull and uninteresting.

I honestly did not enjoy "My mother was a witch" at all. The plot was predictable and cliché, and I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The protagonist felt flat and lacked any real personality or agency, making it difficult for me to invest in her story. Additionally, there were numerous grammatical errors throughout the book, which was distracting and took away from my overall reading experience. I would not recommend this book to others.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
Unfortunately, "My mother was a witch" fell short for me. The pacing was incredibly slow, and the plot lacked any real tension or suspense. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult for me to fully engage with the conversations between the characters. The overall writing style was also quite simplistic, lacking any real depth or complexity. Overall, I found the book to be unmemorable and not worth my time.
4. Michael - 2.5 stars
While "My mother was a witch" had an interesting premise, the execution fell flat for me. The world-building was lacking, leaving me with many unanswered questions and a general sense of confusion. The dialogue felt stilted and unrealistic, making it difficult for me to feel invested in the characters or their relationships. The book also seemed to drag on without any significant action or plot developments. Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed with this read.
