Conjuring Chaos: Creating a Witch Character in Pathfinder 2e

By admin

The Pathfinder 2e Witch class is a versatile and flavorful spellcasting class that focuses on hexes, curses, and manipulating the natural world. It is a powerful spellcaster with unique abilities that make it a formidable force on the battlefield. Witches in Pathfinder 2e draw their power from a mysterious source, often associated with hags, nature, or occult forces. They have an inherent connection to the supernatural, allowing them to cast spells and hexes. Witches are known for their affinity for curses and hexes, which they can use to debilitate their enemies or bolster their allies. At 1st level, a Witch gains access to a familiar, which is a magical creature that assists them in their spellcasting and provides various benefits.

A cantrip rebalance is sadly out of question, I believe. I would be fine with just Swaping Cackle and Phase Familiar and getting the level 2 focus spell for free.

While patrons do not reveal their identities to witches, some information can still be gathered by studying the type of power a witch receives from them. My favorite thing about the which was their hexes which were at will supernatural abilities which did not count as magic for the purposes of spell resistance that allowed you to be a master debuffer combined with their cackle ability which sustained them.

At 1st level, a Witch gains access to a familiar, which is a magical creature that assists them in their spellcasting and provides various benefits. The familiar can deliver touch spells for the Witch, provide a bonus to their skills or saving throws, or even act as a scout or spy. One of the defining features of the Witch class is their hexes.

Some gain power through study, some through devotion, others through blood, but the witch gains power from her communion with the unknown. Generally feared and misunderstood, the witch draws her magic from a pact made with an otherworldly power. Communing with that source and using her familiar as a conduit, the witch gains not only a host of spells, but also a number of strange abilities known as hexes. As a witch grows in power, she might learn about the source of her magic, but some remain blissfully unaware. Some are even fearful of what that source might be, or where its true purposes lie. 1

Hexes are special abilities that the Witch can use to alter their environment, inflict suffering on their enemies, or enhance their own abilities. These hexes range from causing sickness or pain to manipulating the minds of others. Witches can choose a variety of different hexes as they gain levels, allowing for different playstyles and strategies. In addition to hexes, Witches also have access to a wide range of spells. They can cast spells that deal damage, heal allies, summon creatures, or manipulate the battlefield. Witches have a unique spellcasting system called the "signature spells," which allows them to cast certain spells spontaneously, without needing to prepare them in advance. This gives them additional flexibility and adaptability in combat. The Witch class is a good choice for players who enjoy playing spellcasters with a darker or mysterious theme. They excel at debuffing enemies and support their allies with hexes, curses, and spells. Their connection to the natural world and the supernatural gives them a unique flavor that sets them apart from other spellcasting classes. Whether you want to play a benevolent garden witch, a malevolent hag, or a mysterious hermit with occult powers, the Witch class offers endless possibilities for roleplaying and storytelling..

I was really excited to try out the Pathfinder 2r witch, but I was left disappointed. The complexity and mechanics of the class were overwhelming and confusing. It felt like a chore trying to navigate through all the different abilities and spells. I also found the witch to be underpowered compared to other classes, making it frustrating to play in combat situations. Overall, I found the Pathfinder 2r witch to be a confusing and lackluster addition to the game.

I had high hopes for the Pathfinder 2r witch, but it fell short of my expectations. The class lacked depth and variety in its abilities. The spells were mostly generic and uninspiring, leaving me wanting more creativity in my gameplay. Additionally, the witch felt overshadowed by other spellcasting classes that offered more interesting and impactful abilities. I was disappointed by the lack of uniqueness and depth in the Pathfinder 2r witch.

As someone who enjoys playing spellcasters, I was excited to try out the Pathfinder 2r witch. However, I found the class to be underwhelming in terms of its spellcasting abilities. The spells available to the witch felt limited and lacked the versatility that I was looking for. Additionally, the mechanics of the class were a bit convoluted, making it difficult to fully understand and utilize the witch's abilities effectively. Overall, while the Pathfinder 2r witch had some potential, it didn't quite hit the mark for me in terms of spellcasting capabilities and complexity.

I found the Pathfinder 2r witch to be a disappointing addition to the game. The class lacked clear direction and purpose, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the role and playstyle of the witch. The abilities and spells felt disjointed and didn't flow well together, leading to a clunky and frustrating gameplay experience.
