Unveiling the Secrets: Understanding Why the Magic Never Wanes

By admin

When we think of magic, we often envision an enchanting realm where anything is possible - a world of witches, wizards, and fantastical creatures. But in reality, magic exists in our everyday lives, if we choose to see it. It is not limited to the realms of fiction and fantasy; it is all around us, waiting to be discovered. The magic of life is present in the smallest of moments - the sound of a child's laughter, the warmth of a loved one's hug, the vibrant colors of a sunset. It is in the simple pleasures that we often overlook, the beauty of nature, and the kindness of strangers. This magic has the power to uplift our spirits and fill our hearts with joy.

Growing up, I took trips with my family to Walt Disney World in Florida. I don’t remember much from my first trip, other than the feeling of walking down Main Street, U.S.A., in the Magic Kingdom. Looking up and seeing the castle is enough to make anyone flabbergasted.

His songs can uplift one's spirits and make the sun shine on a gloomy day. A recent tribute show, held at Kala Mandir, took us on a trip down memory lane. And what was unique about the show was that besides Usha Uthup singing RD's greatest compositions, his own musicians - Ankush Chinchankar, Homi Mullah Ramesh Iyer and Bhanu Gupta - not only performed, but also narrated their own experiences of working with the legendary composer.
Ankush Chinchankar shared with the audience how the sound at the beginning of the song Teri Meri Yari was produced by pressing a tea cup against a tympany. A waiter had dropped a cup on the tympany by mistake, but RD made music out of that! Homi Mullah had worked with RD for 30 years. He actually demonstrated various instruments and narrated stories about each one of them in relation to Panchamda .

I had high hopes for "The magic never wanes" but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The writing was overly descriptive, with too much emphasis on insignificant details that did not add to the overall story. The characters were underdeveloped and their motivations were unclear. I found myself struggling to care about their fates. Although the concept of magic was interesting, the execution fell flat, leaving me feeling disappointed.
