TUI Magic Life to open first club in Italy
TUI Group will open the first hotel of its all-inclusive club brand in Italy. The future TUI Magic Life Calabria is located in the sun-drenched tip of the ‘Italian boot’. The existing resort with 641 rooms will be redesigned in the next few months and will open in May 2019. The new club is a further milestone towards delivering TUI Group’s growth roadmap, based on the continuous expansion of its portfolio of own hotel brands. In Winter 2017/18 alone, TUI Hotels & Resorts continued its expansion through eight new openings, with seven more hotels scheduled to follow this Summer.
“With TUI Magic Life Calabria, we include an element of Italian beach culture in our portfolio. The resorts’ generous sports facilities provide ideal conditions for expanding our all-inclusive concept with numerous activities to southern Italy,” said Andreas Pospiech, Managing Director TUI Magic Life.
Sports enthusiasts, in particular, will be attracted by the extensive cycling programme, twelve tennis and four volleyball courts and an aquatic sports station. The club targets both families and couples. While kids can romp around in the Splashworld, a waterpark, adults can relax in the exclusively bookable Private Lodge area (only adults +16 years). TUI Magic Life Calabria accesses the long sandy beach through a natural pine forest.

A splash of magic! Finding happiness at a family-friendly haven in Italy where children AND parents can relax
Happiness is a water park in Italy. That’s how I’d like to have started this account of a few days at the new TUI Magic Life Calabria resort. But, when I tried to romp in the splash park of this family-friendly haven with my five-year-old son, Nicholas, a lifeguard politely told me adults weren’t allowed. At lunch, I wasn’t permitted in the Magico Buffet restaurant without shoes. It was for my own good, the waiter explained, because plates and glasses were often smashed. So I fetched my flip-flops, using my electronic key bracelet to unlock the door to my room.
Family fun: The Splash Park at the new TUI Magic Life Calabria resort in ItalyLater, I took Nicholas to the Magic Mini Club, where adults drop off their children so they can enjoy a few hours of peace and quiet. Nicholas seemed uncertain at first as I ushered him into a room filled with children. Was this really where he wanted to be? But once his eye lighted on a large toy cement mixer, he relaxed. Me? Frankly, I wasn’t sure at first that this was where I wanted to be.
From water sports to land-based activities, there is something for everyone. Guests can enjoy swimming in the resort's pools or take part in various water activities, such as snorkeling and kayaking.
