Amicia de Rune is the main protagonist in the video game "A Plague Tale: Innocence." She is a young and courageous girl who embarks on a treacherous journey to protect her younger brother, Hugo, during the dark times of the Black Death. Amicia comes from a noble family, living a sheltered life in the countryside of medieval France. However, her life quickly takes a drastic turn when her family is hunted down by the Inquisition due to her brother's mysterious condition. Together with her brother Hugo, who possesses strange powers, Amicia must navigate medieval villages, inhospitable forests, and plague-infested landscapes to escape the relentless pursuit. Throughout the game, Amicia's character development is evident as she evolves from an innocent and naive girl into a strong and capable young woman.

Throughout the game, Amicia's character development is evident as she evolves from an innocent and naive girl into a strong and capable young woman. She must confront her fears, face danger head-on, and make difficult decisions to protect her brother and find the truth behind his affliction. Amicia's relationship with Hugo is one of the central themes in the game.
